EADC's Summer 2026 Youth Literacy Program

This summer, EADC's Youth Literacy Program worked with campers at Aaron Heard's Summer Day Camp. Our group came to us Tuesday and Thursday mornings, 9:00 AM - 11:00 PM, for 6 weeks this summer.

We had group rotations for reading, writing, and math. The kids also answered journal prompts, participated in group discussions, and routinely visited the library while with us! Our campers worked hard, and accomplished so much in the weeks we worked with them.

Our tutors included: teachers from Clarke County School District (through City of Refuge), EADC faculty, and volunteer college students. We are so grateful to everyone who participated in this program this summer. Thank you for helping our kids stay engaged with their reading, writing and math skills, and prepare for the school year ahead!!
