Ben Epps Airport Field Trip

East Athens Development Corporation recently took a group of Summer Youth Literacy Program Campers to the Athens-Ben Epps Airport. Campers had the opportunity to go on a guided tour of the airport, including the onsite fire station and the air traffic control tower. Students learned about the works and operations that take place at local airports, what it takes to become pilots and air traffic controllers, and about special precautions that the onsite fire department takes to keep everyone safe.
